I found out that Rylan would need to eat the whole tube of toothpaste (of our particular brand) in order to be at risk of cardiac arrest. Luckily he only ate about a teaspoon, but I got to chat with my new friend again.

When I worked in the poison center during pharmacy school, we would have parents give their child milk to drink when they ate toothpaste. The calcium binds with the fluoride and escorts it out.
