Don't Eat Thet

by Bryant (his 1st school essay)

The turkey at your Thanksgiving dinner should not be my friend, Thet Urkey. Even though turkeys are supposed to be the main course, you should not eat my friend Thet Urkey. You should eat mashed potatoes instead.

Here are some reasons why. The first reason is that Thet is my friend; you would not want me to eat your friend. Next, he has a family: 1 boy, 1 girl and a wife. His son`s name is Billy, his daughter is named Grace and his wife is named Sarah. He is a very good Daddy and so his poults and hen would miss him if you ate him. (Mashed potatoes don`t have families.) Finally, Thet is also a lawyer at Boeing (a company where they make things that fly). He has a job to make planes, helicopters, jets and fighter planes so unless you don’t want this to be a free country, don’t eat him. This is why you should not eat Thet.

He is a very nice turkey and he always looks for good things. Thet and I (and his family) will be very happy if we can eat mashed potatoes together on Thanksgiving. We will feel awesome if we get to play football together in the backyard after we eat our ice cream. So, if you would like to be safe during your Thanksgiving dinner, don`t eat Thet. We should keep him around all year long, making planes and keeping us safe.

That's hilarious! I love the things kids come up with. Like the little known fact that mashed potatoes don't have families. =0)
