A little over a month ago, I decided to do a big Family Home Evening. We sent out some invitations to some friends and asked (connived- by copying his wife on the email) a member of the bishopric to be King Benjamin.
We had all of the families pitch a tent in the backyard and we talked about the significance of pitching our tents with the doors facing the temple. We "built" a tower (drew bricks on a box) and then King Benjamin arrived. And he was awesome. His wife had bought him a costume, complete with a wig, beard and sandals and he taught his sermon from a scroll.
It was one of our most memorable FHEs to date.
If you would like to read the story of King Benjamin, you can find it here.
